App Events is a marketing tool offered by Facebook to help developers understand how people use their apps and how to optimize advertising on Facebook. Now Facebook has announced App Events support for Unity games so that developers can better understand how their games are performing.
Developers building games using the Unity SDK will now be able to log App Events for games, meaning they will be able to see how their Unity game is performing and have a better understand the demographic makeup of people who respond to ads. Armed with this knowledge, developers will be able to run more effective Facebook advertising campaigns.
App Events Unity support will provide the opportunity to determine which level of a game is the hardest, based on where players drop off in the game. Developers can also see which level of the game is most successful at encouraging people to make in-app purchases.
With the information available through App Events, developers can tweak games to improve user engagement and gameplay. For example, they can determine which demographic group is making in-app purchases in a game and then show them ads that offer a discount on virtual goods or in-app purchases
To help learn how to get started with App Events, Facebook has published a guide with best practices for how to implement App Events, depending on a particular business or type of app. The guide provides tips for apps in e-commerce, retail, games and travel categories, as well as a list of recommended events and parameters for each type of app.Read more: https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2014/12/...
