Statista.com has revealed its findings of which mobile games were the most profitable in 2022. At the top of the list was Honor of Kings which earned over $2B from in-app purchases, with PUBG Mobile in the second spot after earning over $1.7B in revenue.

According to the data gathered from Statista.com, Honor of Kings was the most profitable mobile video game in 2022. The MOBA game earned $2.2 billion from in-app purchase revenue. Honor of Kings is widely popular in China, and most of its revenue is generated in the country.

Battle royale game PUBG Mobile continues to be popular in the Asian market. PUBG Mobile earned $1.725 billion to occupy the second spot in the list.

Action RPG Genshin Impact earned $1.561 billion from its mobile version in 2022. Chinese developer miHoYo developed and published the game in 2020.

Most profitable mobile games from 2022

Candy Crush Saga remains a popular mobile title even a decade after its initial launch. The game, developed by Malta-based King, is also the most popular mobile title in the western market. It was the fourth most profitable mobile game in 2022, with $1.02 billion in in-game revenue.

Popular game platform Roblox completed the top five with $861.86m in revenue. Casual mobile game Coin Master was just behind in the list with $820.73m in revenue. The game, developed by Israeli studio Moon Active, is hugely popular in the Western European market, especially in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The tactical turn-based game Romance of the Three Kingdoms made $712.92m in revenue from in-game purchases. The seventh-placed game, created by Japanese developer Koei, is hugely popular in Japan.

The augmented reality game Pokemon Go is next on the list. Originally launched in 2016, the mobile game made $703.74m from in-game purchases in 2022.

The mobile version of the popular MMORPG Fantasy Westward Journey made $601.01 from in-game purchases in 2022. Fantasy Westward Journey, developed by Chinese developer NetEase, is one of China’s most popular online games.

The famous Japanese role-playing physics game Monster Strike completes the top ten list. The game, developed by XLAG, made $589.92m from in-game purchases.
