Developers Alliance board chair, Jake Ward, has released a statement warning that the EU’s Digital Markets Act enforcement will raise costs and red tape for developers in a response titled Developers Alliance reacts to European DMA investigation, criticizing its impact on innovation.
Developers Alliance board chair Jake Ward released the following statement in reaction to the European Commission’s findings of non-compliance with the burdensome regulations under the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
Developers Alliance reacts to European Commission’s DMA investigation findings
"It was harder yesterday to be an app developer in Europe than it was a year ago or a decade before that, and with today’s findings it will get even harder and more expensive. The last thing developers need are higher prices and more red tape to access the European market.
"For more than a decade the EU has focused its attention and energy on stifling the success of American tech companies rather than supporting the future of the European tech sector. This is no way to grow a stagnant European economy, and it’s no way to support app developers trying to operate a business."
