Salesforce announced it will buy Tableau Software for $15.7 billion to help build better sales forecasts on the leadership level and provide better sales foresight on the managerial level
Salesforce has said it will buy Tableau Software for $15.7 billion in an all-stock deal, making it the largest acquisition in the history of the company. This is more than double the $6.5 billion the San Francisco-based cloud giant paid for MuleSoft last year.
Salesforce will use the acquisition to double down on business intelligence through powerful new data visualizations. The deal is expected to escalate competition between Salesforce and Microsoft, which competes with Tableau through its Power BI data visualization technology.
