The Madden NFL 25 Championship Series (MCS) is set to return for its 10th season, marking a decade of competitive play. Building on the success of the previous season, the MCS team has focused on enhancing the competition while maintaining the elements that made last year stand out. This season's program reflects the desires of the community, combined with the foundational aspects established over the last ten years.
Among the exciting updates for this season is the reintroduction of a Regs Classic-style tournament at the beginning of the year, along with an increased number of competitors participating in live broadcasts. Below is a summary of these new features and other important information for those aiming to be crowned the best MCS player in the world.
Kickoff classic tournament
- This event will feature Regs H2H gameplay, with a prize pool of $100,000 USD. Ladders for the Kickoff Classic will occur from August 14th to August 15th during the EA SPORTS Madden NFL 25 pre-order early access window. The top 8 online competitors will be invited to participate in the Kickoff Classic broadcast.
More competitors at live event broadcasts
- Responding to community feedback, the number of players advancing to live, in-person events has been expanded. This season, 8 competitors will be flown out to compete in each MCS broadcast.
MCS postseason structure
- The MCS postseason will begin with 3 days of MCS Playoffs, featuring the top 14 competitors. These finalists will then compete in the Madden Bowl, which is the championship game in the Madden calendar. The playoff structure will mirror the NFL’s format, with the top 14 players from the season competing in a bracket similar to the NFC and AFC structures, aiming for a spot in the Madden Bowl.
Simultaneous coverage
- The first round of MCS broadcasts will include simultaneous coverage of multiple games, with the exception of the Kickoff Challenge and Playoffs.
Return of the last chance qualifier (LCQ)
- The LCQ for the MCS Playoffs/Madden Bowl is returning, offering an online competition where one winner will secure the final spot in the MCS Playoffs and compete for a share of $1,000,000 USD.
Increased 1st place prize at monthly challenges
- The prize pool for each MUT competition from Kickoff to Zero Chill has been adjusted, with the top prize for winning one of the 4 monthly challenges now set at $50,000 USD.
- Competitors can earn a MUT pack for their Ultimate Team for each ladder they play at least one game in, with a maximum of 6 packs available for the season. Registration is currently open.
