Syncfusion Scales Cloud and Big Data Solutions Through Hadooponomics

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Syncfusion, Inc., is a developer solutions company that is helping scale big data solutions for their customers Frotcom and Rudolph Technologies using Hadoop and cloud-based offerings.

The company has worked with two companies, Frotcom and Rudolph Technologies which both generate vast amounts of data for their customers. Frotcom is an intelligent GPS vehicle tracking system for fleet management. Rudolph Technologies, Inc. manufactures equipment which is used in defect inspection, data analysis systems and process control metrology.

The challenge with both of the businesses was in scaling its data which they were gathering. As the businesses grew, the rate of growth and need for a scalable, responsive and cost effective system was required. The companies required information collected to be available in real-time.

Syncfusion had worked with both companies and designed end-to-end solutions. The results were having the ability to offer both Frotcom and Rudolph Technologies a way to use the solutions with minimal risk, commercial support, lower license costs and easy scaling. The foundation was developed from Hadoop-based data warehouses which were stored in the cloud.

The data was then analyzed in batch processes. The processes were all written in high level coding such as Java, C#, Python, Hive and Pig. Real-time reporting requirements were also met.

Hadoop is expected to grow throughout 2015. Forrester Research calls the Hadoop approach which was used by Syncfusion’s for big data solutions for Frotcom and Rudolph Technologies “Hadooponomics”—Hadoop’s linear scalability for both data storage and data processing.

Syncfusion’s Big Data Platform for Windows developers which is powered by Hadoop, was launched in October of this year. Daniel Jebaraj, Syncfusion’s vice president believes that Syncfusion Big Data Platform will completely eliminate the need for expensive consulting solutions and the steep learning curve associated with big data solutions.
