Salesforce Launches Trailhead Training Program Out of Beta

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Richard Harris Richard Harris

Salesforce has announced the global launch of its Trailhead training program which offers a new platform to learn Salesforce skills online. The program is available on desktop and mobile and is offered in multiple languages including English, German, Japanese and French.

The program offers “Trails” which are guided learning paths that help cover the most ground on a particular subject in the shortest amount of time. Trails are segmented by type of user – Admin, Business User, Developer – and by skill level – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Current trails covered include the topics of Analytics Cloud, App Cloud, Lightning Experience, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.

The program also offers “Modules” which introduces users to specific topics in bite-sized units. The Modules provide the opportunity to learn what a feature is, when it's helpful, and how to use it ending with an interactive test to reinforce the content.

The “Projects” portion of the training provides hands-on practice with Salesforce technologies through step-by-step instructions. Projects such as “Build a Visualforce App with the Lightning Design System” offer the chance to work through specific platforms and complete a project.

It is free to participate in Trailhead and users are provided with “Badges” as a way to certify completion a specific aspect of the program. More details are available in the link below.
