Notice From Our Editor: Why Some Article Links Are Not Working on Our Website
Wednesday, February 4, 2015
Richard Harris |
I am not only the editor of App Developer Magazine and our associated content across our media property, I also am a developer and webmaster for our entire platform which is another set of responsibilities entirely.
We host our web, email, and application servers in-house. I simply prefer the advantages of internal control vs outsourcing and for me the benefits outweigh the challenges. At least most of the time.
For many of you in a similar situation, as you well know there are a number of challenges associated with doing so. Network connectivity, equipment upgrades, etc. are issues we deal with on a regular basis.
And this week, we had data corruption issues with the server that hosts our main App Developer Magazine website and we lost articles posted from Jan 30 – Feb 3. This is a result of the huge increase in traffic we have experienced and my putting off the upgrades necessary to handle this volume (egg on my face!). We are taking steps to fix the problem and you should not experience any similar problems in the future.
We are reposting the content, however you may experience direct article links that don’t work. If this happens to you, simply go to our main page and you can access the articles from there.
The only upshot to this is our website is about to get a lot faster...
We apologize for the inconvenience!
