North Korea Says They Made a Smartphone called, Arirang

North Korea is set to get their own smartphone called, Arirang - which looks like an older version of the Droid phone and is running a variant of the Android operating system. It's a mystery as to what capabilities the device will have available, especially since there really isn't an Internet connection to speak of there for the general public.

I doubt app developers will get anywhere near the device, speculation is anything on the phone has to be approved by the country first which likely means all development will be internal to North Korea.
On August 10 Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited May 11 Factory and was pleased with the presentation of the new Arirang device.
