It's not Key Lime Pie just yet, but you can get a taste of what's to come with the latest release of the Google operating system for Android, version 4.3.

There are several enhancements under the hood which will speed things up overall on most devices, and there is also full blown restrictive profile support, which will let you lock down features by profile for keeping things like inadvertent in-app purchases from happening the next time you hand your tablet over to your child.

More noteworthy is the support for open GL 3.0, Bluetooth Smart ready technology, and some optimized GEO functions like fencing, and wifi only mode.

There are several new developer oppertunities from within the new OS, including view overlays, screen orientation modes, custom rotation animation types, and RTL improvements.
