Google I/O 2014 is set to go live tomorrow, June 25 at Moscone West in San Francisco. Of course, if you already aren’t traveling to the 2 day event and you don’t live in Northern California, you probably aren’t planning on being there in person.
And that’s ok, because there will be I/O extended events include live streaming sessions from I/O as well as coordinated local speaker sessions and hackathons. A list of streamed events is available here. Also, there are a number of local events worldwide whose locations are also available on the I/O website.
The event will again offer a full slate of programming including a number of breakout sessions with technical content, such as "What's New in Android" and "Wearable computing with Google” from Android, Chrome and Cloud, and cross-product, cross-platform implementations.
Developers can learn how to build better products, apply quantitative data to user experiences, and prototype new Glassware through interactive workshops on UX, experience mapping and design principles. A coding work space, with work stations preloaded with self-paced modules will provide the ability to dive into Android, Chrome, Cloud and APIs with Google experts on hand for guidance.
The “Sandbox” will feature demos of app created with Google products and meet the developers who built them. Topics will range from conceptual prototyping, to performance testing with the latest tools, to turning an app into a successful business. Attendees will be able to see demos and talk in-depth with the developers about how they designed, created and grew their apps.
