What is social-fi?
Social-Fi, short for "Social Finance," refers to decentralized platforms that blend social interactions with financial incentives, typically through blockchain technology. Memstagram is a Social-Fi platform where users can earn rewards for engaging with content, offering a unique meme-to-earn ecosystem.
Why base chain?
Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain designed to scale decentralized applications (dApps) securely and efficiently. Memstagram chose to build on Base for its scalability, low transaction costs, and strong potential for mainstream adoption.
What is Coinbase Wallet?
Coinbase Wallet is a self-custody crypto wallet, allowing users to manage their own crypto assets and dApps without an intermediary. The integration with Coinbase Wallet gives Memstagram access to a large, established user base, enhancing both reach and security for its community.

The partnership with Coinbase Wallet improves Memstagram’s mission of pushing the boundaries of decentralized social media. By bridging blockchain technology and meme culture, Memstagram continues to innovate how content is created, shared, and monetized on-chain.

"I love building things. Spent the last decade creating digital and physical products. Today, it's time to open a new chapter, and I haven't been this pumped in ages," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"Most of the products I've co-founded were in Web2. During that time, watched users evolve, demanding better design, smoother UX, and flawless tech. Over the years, have scaled various products, witnessing fast-paced tech advancements reshaping the Internet," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"My first encounter with Web3 was in 2018 when A16Z, one of the most credible investor (from my pov. I'll add one interesting pod in the comments section below who's interested), raised their first crypto-focused fund of $350m. From that day, I became obsessed with this vertical. Despite societal skepticism and news dominated by scams and ponzies, it attracted me like a strong magnet. The urge to understand the tech was born. So, I read books on Web3, followed credible voices, and decided to build in this space. However, I felt there wasn't a place for me at the time as major VCs focused on the fundamentals of crypto – L1s, L2s, and protocols – not my strongest areas," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"This winter, the ecosystem started to see significant changes with a surge in user-focused applications. TON ecosystem's mini apps showed impressive new user onboarding numbers. Paradigm Ventures launched an $850M fund to deploy on apps and early-stage crypto projects. Farcaster raised a remarkable round of $150m, and Base introduced a smart wallet, simplifying the user onboarding experience," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"These signs indicated the market's maturation and the beginning of a new application era, with growing user adoption, increased VC interest, and a surge in innovation. Inspired by these developments, my co-founders and I started a venture studio focused on building products at the intersection of Web3, AI, and consumer," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"I'm excited to publically introduce Memstagram, a socialfi dApp designed to help memers monetize their creativity. For decades, memes have been a significant cultural phenomenon shaping the Internet. Now, they are making their way into the Web3. We believe memes can serve as a bridge between Web2 and Web3, encouraging more users to participate in this landscape," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
"It's evident that Web3 is reaching a pivotal moment. Biases are falling away, and its true value is becoming clear. Excited to see what this new era of the Internet will look like," said Ignas Survila CEO of Memstagram.
