Sell any digital service using AppDirect's new platform
|Richard Harris in Business of Apps Thursday, October 18, 2018|
The AppDirect platform accelerates sales of your apps through your online store, telesales, and direct sales teams–enabling distribution via our global ecosystem,. They just made some major announcements about the platform highlighted here.
AppDirect has announced major platform additions that aim to empower businesses to sell, monetize, and manage digital services - alongside physical goods - across any channel they say.
It is a significant challenge for businesses to manage and customize how they sell, as older systems struggle to scale with the growing number of new product types and the multitude of channels with which to sell through. In order to remain competitive, businesses must be able to scale while improving the customer experience.
To help businesses achieve this, AppDirect’s platform additions include:
Next Generation Checkout
The next generation checkout allows users to bundle and sell any type of product on the fly. From cloud services to physical products, the AppDirect platform now offers a marketplace with support for a wide range of products, especially those with recurring billing. Features include shipping address handling, fulfillment services, shipping cost information, purchase history, physical device management, and convenient device configuration during checkout. AppDirect has also released new API addressable checkout services to create custom checkout experiences on and off the platform, enabling customers to bundle in third-party solutions wherever they have a digital channel. Additionally, the platform now features improved customer-facing invoicing options that allow for the addition of custom visuals and data objects.
Unlocking Insights with Report Builder
Report Builder is an entirely new self-service tool that allows Marketplace Managers to immediately unlock insights and optimize their marketplace performance quickly and easily. It allows users to access and query marketplace data including history, customers, invoices, payments, etc. With it, users are able to generate or schedule customized reports.
Introducing Storefront Builder
Storefront Builder, a ground-up reinvention of AppDirect’s front-end shopping experience, allows companies to create a tailored marketplace experience for their customers. With new customizable capabilities, companies can create a personalized user interface that follows their unique branding guidelines and enables the integration of third-party add-ons. From purchase to shipping to delivery, Storefront Builder is highly configurable for any type of products, including digital and physical goods and services.
Theme Manager - which contains all the components and styles needed to assemble, organize, and manage a storefront without the need for code in order to perform functions like adding new pages, changing up the merchandising, or re-organizing elements.
Developer Toolkit - containing an integrated code editor along with additional local developer utilities to provide full flexibility in creating unique and differentiated digital commerce experiences.
Dan Saks, President and Co-CEO of AppDirect had this to say:
“In order to succeed in the digital economy, you need to scale in a cost-effective way. That requires a commerce platform that allows business to sell whatever, however, and wherever they want. The ecosystem we’ve built over the past decade has taught us that one size does not fit all. In this increasingly dynamic competitive landscape, you cannot be successful at Multi-Dimensional Commerce in a differentiated way without customizability and extensibility.”
