A practical look at how a unified platform connects Infrastructure as Code with real time asset intelligence to close the operational gap. env zero and CloudQuery Announce Merger to Create the Industry’s First Unified Cloud Intelligence Platform
env zero, an Infrastructure as Code management and governance, and CloudQuery, a leading cloud asset management platform, announced the successful close of their merger. The combined company will operate under the env zero brand and focus on unifying asset intelligence with infrastructure automation so enterprise teams can run cloud operations with greater confidence, speed, and accountability.
The combined entity will provide a unified solution for cloud governance and asset management, enabling enterprise platform teams to ensure resiliency across the entire cloud lifecycle.
A Unified Vision From Day Zero To Day N
Modern cloud programs often extend beyond Infrastructure as Code. Resources appear through scripts, consoles, and services that drift from intended design. Automation platforms do not always see these changes, and discovery tools do not always remediate them safely. By combining CloudQuery asset visibility with env zero automation, the new env zero will continuously discover what runs across cloud accounts and bring it to the desired state through policy driven workflows, with governance built in from authoring through operations.
We heard the same feedback from platform teams. Visibility without action and action without context both fall short, said Steve Corndell, Chief Executive Officer of env zero. By bringing CloudQuery data capabilities together with our automation engine, we are giving platform engineers one place to manage reliable, secure, and cost effective cloud environments from the first line of code through ongoing operations.
Leadership And Innovation
The combined company will be led by Steve Corndell as Chief Executive Officer. Yevgeny Pats, Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of CloudQuery, joins as Chief Technology Officer with responsibility for technology integration and the long term product roadmap.
CloudQuery was built to solve the visibility problem that is inherent in modern cloud infrastructure, said Yevgeny Pats, Chief Technology Officer of env zero. Joining env zero allows us to close the loop between knowing what exists and taking action on it. Together, we are building a system that not only shows what you have in the cloud but keeps it reliable and compliant automatically.
The company also welcomes industry veteran Oved Lourie as Field Chief Technology Officer. This role is designed to keep customer feedback close to product planning, ensuring that platform capabilities reflect real world needs across security, compliance, cost, and performance outcomes.
Closing The Operational Gap
Platform engineering now sits at the intersection of security, compliance, financial governance, and performance. Teams are adopting new development practices and foundational models that speed up the software lifecycle. That acceleration brings a new requirement for guardrails that align what is intended with what is actually running. The new env zero addresses this need by connecting Infrastructure as Code governance with real time asset intelligence and by enabling continuous reconciliation from plans to production.
The operational gap is the space between the design you commit and the reality you run, added Steve Corndell. As development speeds up, that gap becomes a liability. By bringing together our Infrastructure as Code expertise with CloudQuery context, we give platform teams a single view to manage security, compliance, cost, and performance at once. We are not just helping teams deploy. We are helping them operate end to end with confidence.
Customer Impact And Roadmap
The merger has officially closed. Customers of both platforms will continue to receive full support for existing services. An accelerated roadmap will introduce integrated capabilities such as automated drift detection and remediation, runtime aligned policy enforcement, cost and performance insights mapped to code and infrastructure ownership, and event driven workflows that reduce ticket loops with safe automation.
Design partners and early adopters can expect invitations to private previews as the unified platform rolls out. Executives and product leaders from env zero will be available for meetings at major industry gatherings, including KubeCon Europe in Amsterdam, to discuss integration timelines and customer migration options.
What The Platform Delivers
The unified env zero platform brings together continuous discovery, context rich analysis, and policy backed automation. Teams can query and normalize assets across multiple cloud providers, assess configuration against policy and compliance standards, and execute safe changes through code based workflows. The platform helps standardize patterns and reduce drift while preserving developer velocity. It integrates with Terraform, Open Tofu, Pulumi, Cloud Formation, Terragrunt, and Kubernetes so customers can adopt a single control plane without replacing established tools.
For security and compliance leaders, the platform supports mapping controls to both desired and actual state, with auditable change history. For Fin Ops and platform ownership, the platform connects cost and performance signals to resources and teams, making it easier to prioritize remediation and right sizing. For reliability engineering, it aligns runtime dependencies with the Infrastructure as Code that provisions them, helping teams anticipate risk and reduce time to resolution.
