Amium Launches With Goals of Unifying File Sharing and Other Team Collaborations

Stuart Parkerson Stuart Parkerson in Cloud Services Wednesday, August 3, 2016

AeroFS has announced the availability of Amium, a cloud based content-centric collaboration solution built on the AeroFS enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) platform. The platform provides a collaboration experience where teams can engage in group discussions, content creation, and development efforts, all in one place.

Amium unifies file sharing, file synchronization, team messaging, and associated collaboration activities in one place and in real time. Documents and files are automatically attached to a collaboration discussion, and everyone involved in the conversation automatically gains access to this shared content.

Full-page previews of files in most common file types can be viewed and worked on without having to leave the Amium application through integration with web services, including Microsoft Office 365 Online. Team members always see the latest version of the file instantly as revisions are made by others. Additionally, a full version history of content and the conversations that led to changes are readily available for greater productivity.

The new Amium collaboration product will feature integration with a number of web services that facilitate content creation and revision from virtually anywhere using any supported device without leaving Amium. The Microsoft Office 365 Online integration is available now, and AeroFS is working with other leading web-service providers to bring additional capabilities to the collaboration product.

From a security standpoint, Amium implements numerous enterprise-class security measures designed to protect sensitive data and comply with various security standards. All files are stored in block fragments encrypted using AES-256, which also protects all data transmitted across the LAN or the internet. Amium also utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the hosting environment, which maintains ISO 27001 compliance, PCI Certification, and SOC reports.

Offered as a free or paid hosted solution, Amium is available now for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, and iOS platforms, as well as through a standard web interface. Free and paid versions of Amium support an unlimited number of users. The free solution provides a total of 2 GB of storage, up to 10 integrations, and the ability to search the most recent 10,000 messages. The paid version is priced at $10/user/month, with 100 GB of storage per user, unlimited integrations, and the ability to search all messages.
