Acumatica Releases New Enterprise Mobile Development Framework

Monday, August 25, 2014

Acumatica has released a new Enterprise mobile development framework as part of the latest beta release of its cloud based ERP platform.

The Acumatica xRP Platform offers a new UI look and feel, stronger business functionality, and a better web platform. The platform also now features Single Sign-On, MySQL and Amazon RDS support, multi-warehouse allocation and purchasing, B2B ordering, and Exchange Server integration. The company also announced the availability of a beta Payroll module.

The Acumatica Cloud xRP Platform is built on top of industry standard Microsoft .NET technologies and the Visual Studio Integrated Development Environment.

Acumatica includes a system foundation layer that provides core platform services and an application foundation layer that provides a template application and a set of application building blocks.

The System Foundation Layer is a set of core components that are designed to isolate developers from the complexities associated with building an application.

The Application Foundation Layer is a set of application building blocks and database structures with components for creating and extending Acumatica applications. Security management, wiki tools, user management, document management, customization, and localization tools are all provided.

The Application Layer consists of 3 logical areas that separate data access, business logic, and presentation. Acumatica provides wizards and tools to help with creating data access classes, business logic, and presentation. An API allows programmers to interface external systems with business logic without creating a presentation layer.
