Dashlane to utilize Android's new support for password managers

Google Android now supports password Management services and Dashlane becomes one of few to capitalize on it.

Google announced native support for password managers in Android O and an early preview of Autofill with Google, which in the absence of a password manager, allows the user to use information from Chrome Sync and Google Payments to autofill apps. By offering basic functionality out-of-the-box and making it much easier for users to adopt and use a password management app, Android O users should have no excuse not to use some form of secure and convenient password management.

Details on Dashlane's auto-login for websites in the Chrome browser:

- Using the same Dashlane "bubble" that users have for logging into apps, they will now make credentials instantly accessible on the login page of websites in Chrome

- This feature has been available as a beta setting while Dashlane tracked and improved performance, and now will be integrated as part of the standard auto-login feature

- 64 of the top 100 websites are supported

- The Dashlane Browser is still available for instant form filling for all different kinds of data, and their complete analysis engine

Instant Apps

Dashlane is one of only 50 companies, and the only password manager, that has worked with Google to create on another exciting initiative: Instant Apps. Their instant password generator app can be opened up and used without installing Dashlane. This means that anyone can generate and copy strong, complex passwords immediately - URL clicks can open right in an Android app, even if the user doesn’t have that app installed. Now anyone can create a strong password on the fly, making it easier for everyone to discover how to create good password and take steps to better secure their accounts.

According to CEO of Dashlane, Emmanuel Schalit, “Dashlane has worked yet again with Google to deliver Android users the best password and autofill experience on Android. These releases continue Dashlane’s trend as the leading innovator on the Android platform.”
