The MYO uses Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy to communicate with the devices it is paired with. It features on-board, rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries, and an ARM processor. The MYO is outfitted with Thalmic’s proprietary muscle activity sensors. It also features a 6-axis inertial measurement unit.

This is exciting news especially for developers because it really does introduce the idea of using wearable control devices to operate inside your applications. I can see easily being able to control a player in a game for example, or even to remotely control certain device functions.
I ordered one this morning and at the order confirmation screen it said that I was #4252 in line to receive the new MYO armband.
