ABO Data has announced the US availability of PLAT.ONE, an enterprise-grade Internet of Things application platform. PLAT.ONE has already been available in Europe supporting Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

PLAT.ONE provides the ability for enterprises to create scalable and secure, multi-tenant, cloud-ready application platforms. It is an end-to-end software platform that accelerates the development and deployment of mission critical IoT and M2M applications offering edge agents that run on end devices, device management and service enablement engines; and ‘big-data ready’ business rules, data management and application enablement platforms.

PLAT.ONE is data-aware with data management rules, semantics, security and native storage using Hadoop and major SQL databases. It is a distributed platform with an edge agent that provide native monitoring and control of edge devices including remote configuration, software upgrades, error reporting, traffic shaping and device lifecycle management.

All connected devices in PLAT.ONE are identified and tracked, and can be managed by user groups or location data to define access policies, geo-fences or to implement converged identities management. PLAT.ONE works with major devices protocols, normalizing the underlying native protocol to provide two-way communication between applications and devices providing the ability to chose the best device independently from the protocol used.

All users and assets in the platform are managed using a comprehensive, military-grade security system to administer and manage rights across hierarchical user, user group, asset and asset group profiles.

PLAT.ONE provides native store and forward messaging to preserve critical data in case of network congestion or failure. Message prioritization rule are user-configurable. It is based on OSGi R4 specifications and comply with most industry standards for service oriented software. Communications are based on standard protocols, from devices to applications.
