Kong Inc., a developer of cloud API technologies, has announced the speaker line up and agenda for its seventh annual API Summit on September 11-12. API Summit 2024

The theme of this year's conference is "Where APIs & AI Converge." The event will highlight discussions from industry leaders on the challenges and solutions related to AI deployments. It will also feature practical use cases specifically for developers and include an overview of Kong's new products and upcoming roadmap.

"API Summit has become the go-to event for developers, system architects, and technology leaders looking to stay ahead of the curve in the cloud-native API world. This year, the explosive growth of generative AI and applications leveraging large language models will be on full display across the event. We're excited to share Kong's latest innovations, as well as how these technologies are being leveraged by users, customers, and our ever-expanding partner ecosystem," said Marco Palladino, CTO and co-founder of Kong Inc.

The virtual conference will take place September 11-12 and will focus on the convergence of AI and APIs; Featuring speakers from Rabobank, Siemens Energy, and Ubisoft

In a recent Kong study, 79% of developers said API usage creates opportunities for new products and services. This further highlights the need to have a clear API strategy, vision, and infrastructure to prepare for new use cases, particularly as it relates to AI. Kong's API Summit is an opportunity to hear from some of the brightest minds in the space on best practices for building, running and governing APIs across any environment.

"API Summit is an invaluable event for the industry, providing a platform to address critical challenges in API security and governance. We're thrilled to sponsor and share our insights on how organizations can improve their API security postures, and significantly reduce their risk of breaches. As APIs continue to power next-generation applications, understanding an organization's API posture and where to focus efforts is essential for securing digital infrastructure and ensuring long-term success. We look forward to engaging with industry leaders and helping attendees master their API challenges," said Michael Nicosia, Co-Founder & COO, Salt Security.

Sponsors of this year's event include Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Speakeasy, Infosys, Cognizant, and Salt Security.

In addition, Kong will be hosting its fourth annual API Summit Hackathon, an all-virtual event designed to foster creativity within the Kong community. Submissions are open September 1-11.
