Urban Airship now lets you deliver messages to any platform or device

Mobile growth company Urban Airship has unveiled two next-generation platform services called Open Channels and Open Profiles. The updated services will enable businesses to reach more customers in more places at their moment of need, sustaining interactions and creating valuable feedback loops that drive growth. With Open Channels, businesses can send notification style messaging to any marketing channel in their stack - from chat messaging services and email, to intelligent personal assistants and vehicle information systems.

Open Profiles extend Urban Airship’s open mobile data strategy and further breaks down customer data silos, by collecting and processing real-time customer behavior, events and attributes from any system or channel. Combined Open Channels and Open Profiles will unleash the ability to both learn and act on what customers care about most, and fuel valuable feedback loops with effortless notification button taps everywhere.

“We’re at the end of the beginning of mobile, where development and customer experiences are expanding from the device in our hands to our homes, cars, virtual environments and the network of sensors all around us,” said Mike Herrick, SVP of Product & Engineering, Urban Airship. “By taking an open platform approach, Urban Airship will help developers more easily gain advantage from these new experiences by being able to send messaging and receive user-level data from any device, platform or channel that exists today or emerges in the future.”

The company, which sends more than one billion app notifications and collects 10 billion user attributes everyday, is well-positioned to improve customer experience and enable businesses to individually interact with customers wherever they are.
