Site24x7 Launches Beta Version of Android Mobile APM

Posted on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

Site24x7, a cloud infrastructure monitoring service, has launched a new beta version of its Mobile Application Performance Management (APM), a feature that helps mobile developers manage their mobile apps. The Site24x7 Mobile APM provides visibility into mobile application behavior and helps resolve performance issues that affect end-user experience.

Site24x7 helps monitor the uptime and performance of websites, online applications, servers, mobile websites and custom APIs. The monitoring is done from 50 plus locations across the world and from various wireless carriers, providing a global perspective of the end-user experience. Site24x7 supports monitoring HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, TCP, IMAP, SSL, Ping, FTP, SFTP, DNS and other Internet-facing network services.

Android apps are supported with the beta release of the new platform, and iOS app support is coming in the second quarter of 2015. Site24x7’s Mobile APM beta includes Real User Monitoring (RUM), which helps developers analyze their applications’ performance by monitoring end-user experience in real time.

The platform provides data on application response time and the type of operating system, browser or device being used. Site24x7’s cloud-based Mobile APM provides usage metrics as well as graphical representations of end-user response time and throughput globally. This information helps developers understand how their mobile apps behave when accessed from different countries. Statistics related to carrier performance are also captured by the tool. Individual transactions are monitored by response time and throughput to enable developers to analyze the responsiveness of the mobile app.

The Site24x7 Mobile APM feature (Android support) is available now for beta testing and comes as a standard feature with the Site24x7 Business pack starting at $39 per month.

For more information on the platform is available here.
