Rackspace Announces Global Mobile App Challenge With $20,000 In Prizes

In order to inspire developers around the globe to be creative in architecting applications that solve pressing problems, Rackspace and ObjectRocket today announced the NoSQL Mobile App Challenge.
 
Contestants will be tasked with building user-friendly mobile apps that have real world impact. To do this, they will have free access to various Rackspace technologies including:
 
ObjectRocket by Rackspace - to take the headache out of operating and scaling your NoSQL database

Rackspace Cloud Databases - to instantly provision MySQL instances

Rackspace Cloud Big Data Platform - to rapidly provision Hadoop-optimized clusters

All Rackspace cloud features that are always included in our infrastructure support level
 
The NoSQL Mobile App Challenge submission period will begin at the end of July, and the judging panel will consist of leaders from a variety of areas, including media companies, tech companies and investment firms. Cash prizes will be presented to developers with the winning apps.

$10,000 

Second Place Prize 
$7,000 

Third Place Prize 
$2,000 

Popular Choice 
$1,000 

Large Organization Recognition Award 
Non-cash, recognition only for Large Organizations (more than 50 employees)

This challenge will be open to developers around the globe!
