New Data on Which Programming Languages Skills Are in Highest Demand

New data has been made available which provides a snapshot of what programming languages are currently in the highest demand. The data is based on the internal company reporting from Toptal, a marketplace connecting companies with developers, engineers, programmers, coders, architects, and consultants.

When looking at the company’s year to year data, the following shows the percentage growth of the number of jobs requested:
 
- Swift: 600%
- HTML: 267%
- C++: 244%
- CSS: 239%
- PHP: 167%
- Sass: 142%
- Objective-C: 138%
- Less: 137%
- XML: 125%
- Python: 120%
 
The following shows the percentage growth of number of jobs requested for a given technology:
 
- Drupal: 282%
- Elasticsearch: 274%
- Unity3D: 200%
- Node.js: 192%
- Ember.js: 188%
- Laravel: 188%
- Flask: 180%
- AngularJS: 179%
- Stripe: 177%
- Bootstrap: 177%
