Moving to the cloud and staying there predictions for 2021

Organizations everywhere are escalating their use of analytics systems but are challenged with the need for event-data platforms that can perform real-time data wrangling. In 2021 organizations will demand intelligent data platforms that can consume static and streaming data from a variety of sources in any format, size, or velocity; Wrangle the data (enrich and map) on-the-fly; and deliver the data to systems, devices and applications securely and in real-time.

As we close 2020 and move into 2021, we are seeing a rapidly accelerated move to cloud-based solutions.

It began in 2020, as companies have had to cope with the operational effects on business in a COVID world. Accommodating the COVID environment of remote workers caused organizations to recognize the operational and economic benefits of working in the cloud.

In 2021, organizations will take the best practices learned in moving to the cloud and fully implement them for permanent use going forward.

To do this, clients will want assurance that cloud real-time data delivery is reliable, easy, massively scalable, and that data security is a given, with there being an overall strong focus on reducing application complexity and development time. However, having said all that, in 2021 operational costs will still be the most pressing concern for organizations given the challenges that many have faced this year.
