MAXON to Provide Instruction for Game Developers on Incorporating 3D Models and at GDC

Posted on Thursday, February 26, 2015 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

MAXON, a provider of professional 3D modeling, painting, animation and rendering solutions, will be hosting a number of presentations at GDC including instruction on incorporating 3D models, animation and environments into game development pipelines.

Demos will highlight the connectivity between MAXON’s Cinema 4D software solution with many of today’s game development platforms including Unity 3D. Guest artist presenter M dot Strange will share his creative approach, tips and techniques in game design.

MAXON will also preview technology of a new plugin in development that provides integration with the Allegorithmic Substance Designer 5 procedural texturing toolset directly inside Cinema 4D. This functionality will give Cinema 4D users access to a wide range of Substance Designer files to download and also provides greater flexibility in the adjustment of textures for streamlined content creation. MAXON team members will be showcasing this integration during GDC at the Allegorithmic booth.

During GDC on March 3, MAXON team members will be at the Adobe Systems headquarters in San Francisco to demonstrate the Cineware workflow, a live 3D pipeline that lets artists open Cinema 4D projects directly inside Adobe After Effects. The presentation will include an overview of Cinema 4D Lite, now included in Adobe After Effects, that offers a comprehensive set of basic Cinema 4D functions.

MAXON software is used by 3D artists for generating complex assets for game cinematics, game trailers and more. Recent game titles that have relied on Cinema 4D and Body Paint 3D include Halo 4, Empress of the Deep 3, Call of Duty: Black Opps II, The Division, and the soon-to-be released Dreadnought.
