Goodby Flash Ads: Flite Introduces New Web Based HTML5 Design Tool for Building Mobile Ads

Posted on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

Goodbye Flash, hello HTML5. So says Flite, a multi-screen advertising company, who has introduced Design Studio HTML5, a web-based design tool for building ads that will run on all devices and screens.

According to the company, when compared with competitive offerings, Design Studio HTML5 has an easier to use UI, a straightforward installation and trafficking of HTML5 content, live update capabilities without reinstalling code, multi-user collaboration in the design process, and better cross-browser/cross-device support.

While creating multi-screen advertising is the primary use of the platform, Design Studio HTML5 can also be used to develop a wide array of digital creatives, including interactive mockups and streamlined RFP/RFI submissions. Design Studio HTML5 is a free tool that any designer can use.

The tool is similar to Google’s recently introduced Web Designer, however differs in that it is cloud based. Users can use the tool to assemble interactive ads with a number of built-in connectors to popular web-based services like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and niche services like Channel Intelligence, StyleCaster and Bazaarvoice. Flite’s HTML5 ad creative can render on all popular devices, and can be updated at any time without issuing new tags.

And Flash is not totally gone. For older, legacy browsers, Design Studio offers a Flash mode.
