This year, gamescom latam will be attended by Michael Steranka, Senior Director of Pokemon GO. This will be the first time the executive has taken part in an event in Brazil. During his panel at the event, Steranka will talk about the development of Pokemon GO as a “forever game” and the evolution and future of Augmented Reality (AR) games, offering a valuable perspective on the sector's global industry.
In addition to the executive's presence, Niantic has confirmed further details of Pokemon's participation at gamescom latam: there will be special missions and Pokemons for the visitors who want to play the game during the event, available only for who be there in person on Distrito Anhembi.
The attendance also brings an unprecedented initiative: for the first time in the history of the BIG Festival and gamescom latam, the general public's credentials will be personalized with exclusive Pokemon themed artwork, which will be given to visitors and will become a special collectible item and souvenir of the experience.
With 10 games on the list for the Best Brazilian Game category, the Brazilian titles that will compete for the region's top prize have been announced. Among the selected projects are Cyberwar: Neon City, Deathbound, Debtors' Club andE-Lich: Corporate Souls, titles that have already participated in the event in the Panorama Brasil showcase, but were selected in 2025 to compete in the national category of the award.
