Free photo transforming SDK toolkit gets updated

Kanvas will be adding a new feature to its SDK toolkit (which it made available to the developer community for free in January), allowing users to transform their photos into artwork - for instance, turn that pic of a sunset into a Van Gogh-esque painting.

With the new feature, called Kanvas AI Art, a user can simply choose a filter of an artistic style. From here, using artificial intelligence and neural network algorithms (brain-like computer systems), this technology takes on the role of the “artist” to recreate a user's photo from scratch using the chosen artistic style. Kanvas will have 20 different artistic styled filters available on their AI Art SDK.

Since the launch of the Kanvas SDK, app developers have been seeing a lot of success, from increased MMS usage to increased custom gif creation. The tools within the SDK provide additional revenue streams to nearly any app’s current monetization efforts. Companies who signed on to the SDK launch included Phhhoto, Video Star, Showzee, ROLR and ASKfm.

'At ASKfm, we believe in being open - whether through questions and answers or through partnerships. This is why we have partnered with Kanvas to integrate its best-in-class SDK into ASKfm app. It's been great working with the Kanvas team and technology. It will enable ASKfm engineering team to develop new and exciting product features for our highly demanding users,” said Maksym Tsaryk, CEO of ASKfm.
