While the Android vs. iPhone vs. Windows Phone vs. BlackBerry vs. HTML5 war rages on, Firefox OS, Ubuntu Touch, Tizen, and Sailfish all put a footprint down at MWC this year.

Make room in the pie charts for the newest platforms to come into mobile!

Firefox OS
Built entirely using HTML5 and other open Web standards, Firefox OS is free from the rules and restrictions of existing proprietary platforms. They made a big announcement at MWC naming four phone makers and 18 operators lining up behind Firefox OS.

Ubuntu Touch
Designed to make all your phone content easier to access and your apps more immersive – every edge has a specific purpose, making all your apps, content and controls instantly accessible, without navigating back to the home screen every time. And the Ubuntu phone fits perfectly into the wider family of Ubuntu interfaces, alongside the PC and TV. It's a uniquely, beautifully converged experience.

Tizen
Tizen is an open source, standards-based software platform supported by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, and silicon suppliers for multiple device categories such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and smart TVs. Tizen offers an innovative operating system, applications, and a user experience that consumers can take from device to device.

Sailfish
Sailfish is a Linux-based mobile operating system developed by the Sailfish Alliance, a division of Jolla Mobile, for use in its upcoming smartphones and intended for more than mobile devices. It is based on MeeGo and Mer.
