Progress® OpenEdge® Mobile App Builder product, powered by Exadel’s Tiggzi, now available through Progress to more than 1,500 independent software vendors

Walnut Creek, CA (February 20, 2013) – Exadel, a leading enterprise mobile software development company, today announced an OEM partnership with Progress Software (NASDAQ: PRGS), a global software company that simplifies and enables the development and deployment of business applications.

Under the new agreement, Progress Software will incorporate Tiggzi, Exadel’s cloud-based mobile app development platform, as a component of its Progress® OpenEdge® Mobile App Builder product, part of the company’s flagship development platform for building dynamic multi-language apps for secure deployment across platforms, mobile devices, and clouds.  Powered by Tiggzi, the OpenEdge Mobile App Builder product became generally available today as part of OpenEdge 11.2.

“This agreement represents an incredible opportunity for Exadel and the Tiggzi platform,” said Exadel CEO, Fima Katz. “Progress Software works with thousands of enterprise customers and more than 1,500 independent software vendors. We’re honored they chose Tiggzi as a key part of their mobile offering.”

“Progress partners and customers realize that mobility is a critical part of a modern enterprise business application,” said Karen Tegan Padir, Progress Software Senior Vice President and Business Line Executive of Application Development. “By integrating capabilities of Tiggzi into the OpenEdge Mobile App Builder product, we are simplifying the development of mobile apps across multiple operating systems and enabling OpenEdge partners and customers to extend the full functionality of their critical business applications to mobile devices rapidly and cost effectively.”

Tiggzi’s cross platform approach enables Progress Software to incorporate heterogeneous mobile capabilities – enabling developers to “write once, deploy anywhere” while removing the need to learn device-specific languages or development environments. In addition, Tiggzi enables the creation of full-featured apps that can access all of the most important device capabilities, such as the camera, GPS, accelerometer, and contacts.
