Delta Outfits Flight Attendants with 19,000 Nokia Lumia 820 Smartphones

Nokia, Microsoft and AT&T have scored a big enterprise mobile win and the friendly skies just got a lot more mobile as over 19,000 Nokia Lumia 820 smartphones were put in Delta flight attendant’s hands to facilitate on board purchases.

Passengers can purchase food and drinks, in-flight upgrades and more with a swipe of a credit card with the phone’s external readers. Attendants will also have the ability to enter orders, scan coupons and email receipts.

In the future, Delta expects to provide flight attendants with certain customer-specific information to enable more personalized service.

Can you say “Enterprise Mobile”? 19,000 Delta flight attendants can.
