Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights

Posted on Sunday, December 9, 2012 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

The Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights is an effort by the Unites States Government to put privacy first for consumers and force digital information companies to be 'within the law' when it comes to what sort of information they can gather, and use.

As an app developer you need to pay close attention to this story because it will directly effect the way your app gets delivered. While it's been a bumpy road for the committee gathering industry support, they already have the likes of the Application Developers Alliance, the American Civil Liberties Union, Consumer Action and the World Privacy Forum - there is no doubt that some variant of this bill will pass and it will directly affect how you develop apps int the future.
