BlackBerry App Developer Site Gets Makeover

Posted on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

The BlackBerry Developer website is receiving a major makeover with changes to its microsites’ appearance and the location of content.

Included is the merging of the Native and Cascades development microsites into a single Native site. PlayBook is getting its own microsite with the inclusion of native content as well as all PlayBook information for HTML5, AIR, and Android. BlackBerry OS now has its own microsite, containing all of the available Java, HTML5, and Theme Studio information.

Navigation to the entire dev site has been changed to make it easier to move among the microsites. The Platform Choice page has also been redesigned and includes the consolidated BlackBerry 10, PlayBook, and BBOS options. Developer forums have also been updated and consolidated with all content migrated to the new areas.

Finally, Blackberry has started a beta project that adds commenting functionality with Disqus (the same tool implemented on the Inside BlackBerry Developer Blog) to its AIR microsite.
