Posted on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

BlackBerry is enticing app developers to participate in its Built for BlackBerry program by creating a more friendly interface/process and dangling free swag in the form of a limited edition red BlackBerry Z10

The new developer checklist better explains the criteria and steps to create a Built for BlackBerry designated app or game. Language support has now expanded from 5 languages to 34 and the submission/communication process for BlackBerry Jam Zone has been simplified.

They have also revamped their BlackBerry World to offer increased visibility for Built for BlackBerry designated apps, including a new List View Built for BlackBerry identifier, App Details Screen Built for BlackBerry logo badge, Top Built for BlackBerry List, and Built for BlackBerry Search filter.

BlackBerry is also throwing out the chance to receive a free limited edition red BlackBerry Z10. To qualify developers must submit a new app or game to the Built for BlackBerry program by October 21st, 2013, and if you are one of the first 250 to get your app approved, you could receive one of the free phones.
