Appcelerator, a provider of the Appcelerator mobile enterprise platform, has announced plans for a multi-tiered integration with
MobileIron, a provider of security and management for mobile apps, content and devices. The integration will offer greater functionality to Appcelerator’s platform to help enterprises streamline the delivery and management of secure mobile apps.
This integration yields several product
integrations between Appcelerator and MobileIron, providing new pre-deployment and production capabilities including:
Click-to-Publish: Publish apps for approval into the enterprise store from within the Appcelerator Platform development environment, reducing manual steps and speeding delivery. This is modeled after the same approach available today for publishing apps to public app stores like Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
App-Wrapping: ‘Wrap’ apps to add additional security capabilities, such as on-device and over-the-air encryption, as well as app- and data-wipe, before publishing to enterprise app stores. This allows developers to add additional levels of security without modifying the app, and ensure security regardless of how devices are managed.
App Containerization: Add significant levels of security management, such as access control policies, encryption configuration and reporting, directly within the app code. This also allows the distribution of apps to both public and enterprise app stores, as well as real-time provisioning.
The click-to-publish integration between MobileIron and the Appcelerator Platform is available now with the app wrapping and containerization integrations planned for later in 2014.
