2014 Game Developers Conference Open Call For Papers For Summit Submissions

Specialized One and Two-Day Summits Returns to the Lineup of Events to Open GDC Week

SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 26, 2013 – The call for submissions to present lectures and panels for the specialized Summits kicking off the 2014 Game Developers Conference® (GDC) is now open through Wednesday, October 23 at 11:59pm ET. Beginning on the first two days of the conference, the GDC Summits initiate the five-day conference, covering topics in emerging sectors of the game development industry, with a focus on broadening the scope of games to incorporate new audiences, new platforms and new gameplay ideas. Organized by the UBM Tech Game Network, GDC 2014 will take place March 17-21 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California.

The summits feature lectures, panels, and postmortems, with an acclaimed roster of speakers covering content within specific sectors of the gaming industry to share their expertise with developers aiming to master their crafts. The summits’ advisory committees include notable figures from renowned companies including Daniel Pangelina, QA Manager at Double Fine Productions, Caryl Shaw, Executive Producer at KIXEYE, Richard Dansky, Central Clancy Writer with Red Storm/Ubisoft, and others. One new addition to the advisory committees is Fabio Minazzi, who joins as an advisor for the Localization Summit. His experience spans from coordinating the localization of reference games for publishers like Capcom, Konami, Mattel, Microsoft, Namco-Bandai, Square-Enix, to the management of complex IT localization projects.
