The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), a collection of NFTs found on the Ethereum blockchain, boast some of the most expensive NFTs ever sold. However, with the recent news of NFTs continuing to decline, how much are they valued at now?

The most expensive BAYC NFTs are up for sale: experts reveal how much their price has dropped

Experts at CryptoGambling.tv analyzed OpenSea to discover the highest offers for the most expensive BAYC NFTs, thus determining just how much they have decreased in value.

Bored Ape #8817: 97% decrease

Once sold for a staggering $3,408,000, the most expensive NFT in the entire collection, the highest offer for Bored Ape #8817 currently stands at $103,002.25 on OpenSea - this being an overwhelming 97% decrease in price.

Albeit not the rarest of the BAYC collection, the NFT was sold at such a high price due to its unique image of the ape flaunting gold fur, a spinner hat, and a party blower in its mouth.

Bored Ape #3749: 96.4% decrease

Otherwise called ‘The Captain’, Bored Ape #3749 is the second most expensive NFT of the BAYC collection, previously selling for $2,907,016. The highest offer for this particular NFT is $103,498.20 on OpenSea at the minute, making that a 96.4% price drop.

Like Bored Ape #3749, this NFT also features an ape with gold fur, a trait that is considered rare due to only being available in 46 assets. Alongside this, the ape sports a black t-shirt against a yellow background with a captain’s hat and laser-beaming eyes.

Bored Ape #232: 96.3% decrease

Bored Ape #232 once sold for $2,811,791, this being the third most expensive BAYC NFT, but it’s highest offer on OpenSea is currently $103,420.20, equating to a 96.3% decrease in price.

The solid gold fur that also makes an appearance in #8817 and #3749 is also visible in #232, a trait only found in 0.46% of the collection’s NFTs. Accompanying the solid gold fur is a smoking jacket as well as a seaman’s hat against an army green backdrop.

Bored Ape #8585: 96.4% decrease

Previously selling for $2,702,462 as the fourth most expensive in the collection, the highest offer for Bored Ape #8585 stands at $95,464.80 on OpenSea, equating to a 96.4% price drop.

Due to the ape’s trippy fur in this NFT, which ultimately started a trend of collecting apes with this trait, the sale was very popular amongst NFT enthusiasts; in fact, this trait is only featured on 83 apes. As well as this, Bored Ape #8585 wears a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and a regal crown.

Bored Ape #2087: 95.8% decrease

As the fifth most expensive BAYC NFT, which was once sold for $2,307,638, the highest offer for Bored Ape #2087 is $95,464.80 on OpenSea - this being a 95.8% decrease in price.

Similar to #8585, this NFT features an ape with trippy fur, a cigarette in its mouth, and an angry expression in its face - despite being on the minimal side in terms of traits, this NFT has a rarity score of 312.34, and is the ninth rarest NFT of the collection.

Bored Ape #7090: 96% decrease

Previously being sold for an eye-watering $2,272,620, which makes that the sixth most expensive NFT in the collection, the best offer for Bored Ape #7090 on OpenSea is $102,257.35 - so the price has dropped by 96%.

The solid gold fur makes yet another appearance in this NFT, which is paired with a multicolored grin and a red service uniform resulting in a rarity score of 250.33; the latter can only be found on 1% of apes.

Bored Ape #8135: 97.1% decrease

Bored Ape #8135, the eighth most expensive in the collection, was once snapped up for $1,873,449 - however, the current highest offer for the NFT is $53,488.46 on OpenSea, equating to a 97.1% decrease.

This being the seventh rarest of the collection, the ape boasts an unshaven dagger in the mouth, which can be found on only 0.28% of apes, as well as the trippy captain’s hat, which appears on just 0.65%.

Bored Ape #4580: 94.4% decrease

$1,845,384 was once the cost of Bored Ape #4580, giving it the title of the eighth most expensive BAYC NFT, but the price has dropped significantly by 94.4% to $102,422.45, with this being the best offer on OpenSea.

Featuring sold gold fur, a biker vest, and a seaman’s hat, this ape has a rarity score of 207.3, with the dumbfounded face partially contributing to this.

Bored Ape #3562: 95.3% decrease

Despite being purchased for $1,631,222 in 2021, this being the ninth most expensive of the collection, the highest OpenSea offer for Bored Ape #3562 is $75,635.04 – making that a 95.3% price decrease.

In this NFT, the ape appears unshaven and in a black suit against a blue background; only 28 apes in the entire collection can be spotted wearing the suit, so it’s a particularly desirable trait.

Bored Ape #5199: 97.3% decrease

Bored Ape #5199 is the tenth most expensive BAYC NFT with it previously being sold for $1,611,272 - but its current highest offer on OpenSea of $43,332.57 equates to a price decrease of 97.3%.

The robot fur, cyborg eyes, a bored mouth, and an army green background make for an unusual combination of traits and collectively contribute to the rarity ranking of 58th and score of 260.15.

"It’s interesting to see that, with the news of NFTs declining, just how much some of the most expensive NFTs have decreased in price over the recent months. While it may be particularly troubling information for enthusiasts who hold these tokens, the future of NFTs is unknown - it may only be a matter of time before the values begin to rise," commented a spokesperson from CryptoGambling.tv.
