Radius Networks Partners With Embarcadero To Ramp Up Connected IoT Solutions Development

Posted on Monday, December 8, 2014 by STUART PARKERSON, Global Sales

Radius Networks has announced its recent partnership with Embarcadero Technologies. Radius Networks is a provider of hardware, software and proximity services. Embarcadero Technologies offers technology strategy solutions for developers that are building the new breed of connected apps for the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

The partnership with Embarcadero was made forth to allow developers to deliver proximity-enabled solutions using a single-source native app development platform. Embarcadero’s Appmethod solution will be in place to support Radius Network’s RadBeacon Proximity beacon technologies. Developers will benefit from the solutions to also build innovative proximity-enabled solutions through using a single-source native app development platform.

The IoT market is predicted to grow from $1.9 trillion in 2013 to $7.1 trillion in 2020 according to IDC. Embarcadero’s Appmethod software development platform was specifically developed for the Internet of Things (IoT) market. The partnership will further support Radius Networks’ RadBeacon™ proximity beacons with AltBeacon™ and iBeacon™ technology.

Bluetooth Low Energy transmitters is essentially what a Proximity Beacon is. The transmitters have the ability to notify mobile devices that reach within 100 feet of the beacon. It is a micro-location proximity awareness which can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions.

The innovative solutions include  automatic ticketing, precision indoor navigation,  guided museum tours, promotions and payment options and location-relevant offers. The partnership will also provide support to Radius Networks community of users to deploy faster development.

Michael Swindell, Senior Vice President of Products, Embarcadero Technologies describes proximity awareness as a key component in IoT connected solutions. Swindell believes that partnering with Radius Networks showcases how Appmethod continues to be the development platform of choice for developers building the next generation of solutions for IoT.

Today there are a number of organizations which are rapidly growing from the deployment of proximity within their applications. The partnership will allow both Radius Networks and Embarcadero Technologies to use both Appmethod integration of the ProximityKit and RadBeacon proximity beacon technologies. This is a benefit for application developers which enables them to create solutions in an innovative manner.
