Lisk, an open-source platform that enables developers to build blockchain applications in JavaScript, has announced its high-profile judgment panel for its developer-focused hackathon, HackOnLisk2. The hackathon, which aims to bolster innovation in the blockchain space by providing funding and consultation to participating teams, will welcome judging representatives from Digital Asset Management, Dapp Radar, Salesforce, and Binance. The hackathon precedes Lisk’s largest infrastructure update in its history, having recently released Lisk Mainnet v3.

Discussing their HackOnLisk2 judging panel participation, Anton Kravchenko, Director of Product at Salesforce, said: "I'm incredibly excited to see what the teams are able to create. Lisk delivers an accessible software kit that allows anyone to participate in the blockchain tech revolution, so I believe the applications that will come from this hackathon will be centered on tangible and meaningful products or services. It will be a real insight into the real-world applications of blockchain by seeing the teams build their projects from the ground up."

Following the recent successful HackOnLisk 1, which granted winners $30,000 in Lisk tokens (LSK), Lisk has increased their prize funding to $60,000, presenting further opportunities for developers to capitalize on their skillset. Amongst the cash prizes, successful participants of the hackathon will increase their chances of being selected for the Lisk Grant Program, a year-long funding initiative aimed to bring application concepts from ideation to fruition. Projects selected for the Lisk Grant Program will receive regular funding to a total sum of $1.3 Million USD made available from the Lisk Foundation.

In order to participate in HackOnLisk2, groups of teams will be required to build a blockchain-based DeFi or GameFi application with the Lisk SDK. The opportunity to participate is open to fully formed teams as well as individuals who will be able to find their own team. The hackathon is suitable for anyone interested in blockchain, JavaScript development, or technology, given the many different aspects associated with the construction and building of a blockchain-based application.

"The unsung heroes of the blockchain world are the developers. Without them, there would be no blockchain. Initiatives like this present a fantastic opportunity for people to participate in a continually growing space that is constantly evolving and hungry for innovation and talent. Anyone can join, regardless of skill set, as a lot of teams have such innovative ideas and big plans and are happy to get help in order to achieve their goal," said Roy van Krimpen, Growth Marketing Manager at Binance and HackOnLisk2 judge.

"Our recent mainnet update has made the entire Lisk protocol more efficient, scalable, decentralized, and secure. This advancement in our tech should have a strong impact on the quality of submissions. We are delighted to welcome representatives from a variety of industries, including Salesforce, onto the judging panel. The inclusion of a renowned mainstream technology provider highlights the growing reputation of blockchain technology and sets the stage for the future of mass adoption and real-world applications of blockchain. That is exactly what this HackOnLisk2 represents," said Max Kordek, CEO and Co-Founder of Lisk.
