Google Glass the most awesome thing you will see today

A wearable computer that can interact with you and let you 'live your life' without being tied down by technology? That is what the Google Glass team has envisioned - 'to bring technology closer to our senses'. Google Glass started about 3 years ago as a vision from an engineer named Babak Parviz as part of Google’s X Lab initiative. Then it was an early prototype that looked more like a pair of lensless glasses with a small computer hanging from each arm. Now in it's latest beta they take the appearance of  that is slightly larger than a regular pair of glasses.

I believe these are a game changer and will segway into an entirely new way of working with technology in our daily lives, and could be the face of the mobile community to come. Also, this type of demonstration clearly shows us another thing as developers and that is,  devices like this could usher in a new level of cloud app computing.

Joshua Topolsky from The Verge had the unique advantage of talking with the team behind the Google Glass creation, and take the glasses for a beta test run.

I have no doubt, you'll be as amazed by this as we were. Oh, and the most incredible thing is these aren't sci-fi, they will start shipping this year.

My only concern with this type of technology is privacy. Snapping pictures, or recording video now is obtrusive and for the most part - obvious. But with wearable computers hidden away in our attire it will be much more illusive to spot people being shutterbugs or recording conversations, just a thought..
