DH2i launches DxEnterprise v17 for databases and Docker containers

DH2i has announced the release of DxEnterprise v17, a unified Windows and Linux Smart Availability solution for databases and stateful Docker containers. The latest generation of DH2i's software that enables workload and data portability and high availability, DxEnterprise v17, features built-in DR-readiness while ensuring near-zero planned and unplanned downtime-all while increasing infrastructure flexibility and easing digital business transformation.

451 Research's Market Monitor and Forecast service reported, 'Of the roughly one-quarter of enterprises using containers, 34% of respondents were in broad implementation of production applications and 28% had begun initial implementation of production applications with containers, which is impressive for a technology that has only been in the enterprise for a few years.'

'DH2i's expanded capabilities have made the underlying infrastructure and platform essentially irrelevant for our customers. Our customers are able to enjoy an extremely simplistic management experience with our unified interface for Windows, Linux and Docker-all while our Smart Availability technology dynamically ensures that workloads only come online at their best execution venue (BEV),' said OJ Ngo, co-founder and CTO of DH2i. 'The result is drastically simplified management and unmatched protection against unplanned and planned downtime, even amidst an IT industry where management complexity has been increasing exponentially.'

DxEnterprise v17 software leverages Virtual Host technology that decouples databases and containers from their underlying infrastructures for workload portability from any host, to any host, anywhere, at any time. This latest release adds capability for portable, persistent management of any new or existing Docker container, as well as support for the Linux platform and SQL Server 2017. DH2i's InstanceMobility technology allows these managed instances and containers to move freely across varying OSes or distributions on their respective platforms-all with intelligent health and performance monitoring, alerting, and automated orchestration built in.
