Loggly has created a new web based resource guide which explores a range of logging topics such as open-source log management tools and logging in multiple languages. Dubbed the “Ultimate Guide for Logging,” the resource provides individual guides for Apache, Java, Linux, Node, Systemd, and Windows.
The guide was created to help developers and system administrators learn best practices for using logs to better run their systems. It is intended to be a vendor-neutral, community effort featuring examples from a variety of solutions. Each individual guide includes:
- A basic overview of what’s in the logs and where to find them
- How to search or analyze logs to find valuable information
- How to troubleshoot common issues and find the root cause
- How to centralize or aggregate logs in a large distributed system
Anyone interested can become a contributor to the guide can do so by reaching out
