$4000 a day app revenue for independent developer

David Frampton (Majic Jungle Software) is an independent app developer who has made a big splash with a new game. His latest iPhone app The Blockheads has been downloaded almost two million times in five days, since it's release this past Thursday.

His first app was called Chopper and reportedly earned him over $4000 a day at one point during it's peak in the app store - it was enough for David to buy a house!

The obvious head-fake in the success of the new game is three fold I think. One is the past success of the Chopper series of apps which grew a large following for David, second is the play on the popular block building game Minecraft, and third is the cross promotion other developers have done for this latest app.
