Posted on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 by STUART PARKERSON, Global Sales

In a unique twist to the normal run of the mill Hackathon, the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the Metro Atlanta Chamber will host its first Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational to benefit three non–profits.

The event will launch on August 19 and will run through run September 17. The organizers are inviting teams of programmers from across the nation to compete for $30,000 in cash and prizes, while helping to give (hack) back to three of the nation’s leading non-profit organizations: American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Points of Light/Hands on Network.

Teams will develop mobility solutions from a list of challenges provided by each of the participating non-profits. After a preliminary judging on September 19th, selected Hack-Back finalists will present their projects on stage at the Mobility LIVE conference in Atlanta on September 23rd. Judges will include representatives from the participating non-profits, mobility industry leadership, and investors.

The Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational is held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Mobility LIVE conference, which brings together individuals in the areas of mobile technology standards, strategies and innovations.
