You can now rent sports gear with Rental Pal

Rental Pal has announced the launch of their first mobile app, available for iOS. After a successful beta app, this all mobile-experience offers the ability for all sports enthusiasts to host gear and make extra money, including sports shops, and also allows consumers to rent extreme sports gear in the area they live through geotargeting. The mobile app is available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices.

Hailed as “Craigslist meets Uber”, Rental Pal allows one to rent a variety of skateboards, snowboards, surfboards, golf clubs and more. Rental Pal also has a B2B service that helps sports gear shops have an online appearance and a way to market their gear to travelers, adventurers and first-time sports enthusiasts. In addition, Rental Pal promotes sporting events, as well as helps to set up mobile store fronts for sports gear shops in the local neighborhood to give sports enthusiasts a digital store front connecting to a different market of customers. It is one of the only companies that rent sports gear all through geotargeting with a mobile app.

“As a former amateur skateboarder, I have always had a love for sports,” stated Michael Roloff, founder of Rental Pal. “When my career ended due to a knee injury, I wanted to still give back to the community. I started Rental Pal because a lot of people have good quality sports gear that is just collecting dust in their home or it is a seasonal sport for them and not getting used. Before I started Rental Pal, I spent a lot of time working, and could not go snowboarding every weekend. I would rent the equipment to people who did not own boards and I ended up making double of what the snowboard cost and even did this with golf clubs and baseball bats. That is when I felt I needed to create something that offers people a secure way to make money or borrow sports gear.”

Rental Pal recently partnered with SDI Racing, owner of the Indian Motorcycle team and promoter for American Flat Track/Harley Davidson racing events taking place in Northern California. They are helping sport shops in communities to assist them with social marketing and provide their business a verified profile on the Rental Pal marketplace allowing the shops to show up higher on the search engine functionality within the app.
