UK Based Ordinance Survey Releases OpenSpace Mapping SDK for Android

Posted on Saturday, October 26, 2013 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

With a similar API to Google Maps, the new Ordnance Survey OpenSpace SDK for Android makes moving from Google mapping to Ordnance Survey mapping simple. It is an open-source tool that can be used to access the OS OpenSpace API, OS OpenSpace Pro and OS OnDemand.

The company launched the SDK for iOS a few months ago. The SDK provides a number of benefits for both developers and end users, including quick rendering and offline mapping, meaning that apps can still function even without a mobile signal.
