RacoWireless to Offer Developers Cloud Based M2M Development Tools

Posted on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 by STUART PARKERSON, Global Sales

RacoWireless, a machine-to-machine (M2M) service provider, is making available the Omega DevCloud to facilitate communication with IoT applications in a standardized environment.

The platform will assist device communication by providing an interface that is able to take device messages and commands, in any format and on virtually any device, and translate the data into a standardized format, common to web developers. The is no custom integration needed for specific devices.

The new set of cloud-based tools will wrap complex, socket-based protocols in a standards-based and customizable restful API. The Omega DevCloud is a web-based REST/JSON API built on a hardened bi-directional M2M communication core that supports both TCP and UDP protocols. Developers send device traffic to the Omega DevCloud and tell RacoWireless what that API should look like. From there, developers can send and receive device data with simple web services.

Omega DevCloud will be hosted in enterprise-level data centers that ensure that adopters are able to support M2M and IoT applications that require full redundancy and critical-level security, while eliminating in-house data infrastructure.

The product will be made available to the general public in September. Early adopters can pre-register now.
