New CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise and Operations Center Announced

Posted on Saturday, December 13, 2014 by STUART PARKERSON, Global Sales

CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise and CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center was announced to extend and meet continuous delivery requirement of enterprises. Following the release of Cloudbees’ Jenkins Workflow last week, the company unveiled the two product enhancements which are both related to Jenkins.

The new product releases provide more Jenkins Workflow features to visualize software delivery pipelines and recover from failures, additional capabilities for admins to centrally manage clusters of Jenkins masters, development and performance analytics. CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise and CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center lets Jenkins further scale and conduct management of process workflows no matter what the complexity may be.

CloudBees new enhancements for Jenkins also allows the release to build upon the open source Jenkins Workflow plugin. Features such as the Workflow Stage View  let users visualize delivery pipelines set up with Jenkins Workflow. End-to-end pipeline status are also displayed where users can graphically view pipeline performance.

The Checkpoint/Restart feature gives access to recovery from infrastructure and/or Jenkins failures. A pipeline can be restarted from previous checkpoints, instead of at starting points. The operating center release analyzes Jenkins performance and lets administrators perform management operations on a cluster of Jenkins masters.

CloudBees Jenkins Analytics shows Jenkins performance insights. Performance areas such as the Jenkins-specific build and executor and JVM-based performance metrics are offered. Multiple masters monitoring is also more convenient as it includes newly added graphs displaying performance for build queues.

Harpreet Singh, vice president of products, CloudBees said that the enterprises are looking for more functionality as they utilize Jenkins for mission critical application delivery in their organizations. For large, complex projects, the enhancements that the company is releasing provide greater visibility into Jenkins operations and the ability to derive more value from using Jenkins.
