Does interacting with the world around you by moving your arm sound like telekinesis? The makers of the MYO are now taking pre-orders for their 'Gesture Control Armband' that is able to measure electricity in your muscles instantly to determine every motion possible. This dictates to control of just about anything that is listening over bluetooth! Plus developers (including iOS and Android developers) can use MYO API to interface with the MYO gesture control arm band device unlock the possibility of gesture controlling anything you can think of! You can pre-order one today for just $149 (plus $10 bucks shipping)

Here are the tech specs:
The MYO uses Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy to communicate with the devices it is paired with. It features on-board, rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries, and an ARM processor. The MYO is outfitted with Thalmic’s proprietary muscle activity sensors. It also features a 6-axis inertial measurement unit.

Here is a list of the facts about MYO

This is exciting news especially for developers because it really does introduce the idea of using wearable control devices to operate inside your applications. I can see easily being able to control a player in a game for example, or even to remotely control certain device functions.

I ordered one this morning and at the order confirmation screen it said that I was #4252 in line to receive the new MYO armband.
